Meet the maker who is capturing the raw beauty (and hearts) of Central Oregon.
The Philosophy
I believe that technical mastery is requisite for creative freedom. Like Picasso said, "Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist." By mastering the fundamentals - aperture, ISO, and shutter speed, I find more energy to focus on what matters: the composition of your story.
Serving the community in Central Oregon can come in many shapes and sizes. I consider visually documenting the present moment, a worthy endeavour. Capturing joy and being able to it share it through a creative, durable medium, has been a lifelong passion.
The Oregon Backdrop
Based in Central Oregon, I leverage backdrops of the snow-capped Cascades and shoot in the shadows of the firs and ponderosas. The wild beauty of the High Dessert is a constant source of inspiration.
The Maker's Mindset
Whether it's writing an line of elegant code, learning a new piece of music, or designing and prototyping a custom 3D-printed joint, I am driven by the desire to create. My understanding of the world is achieved by learning the fundamentals, and then personally applying them.
The Style
I don’t impose heavy-handed editing or artificial effects. Instead, I leverage brilliant lighting and classic compositions to provide an honest, beautiful snapshot of life as it happens.
The Process
Casual, fun, photoshoots are the way to go! Being able to enjoy the experience is just as important as the final result. For weddings and ceremonies, I feel just as comfortable documenting the smiles and the tears - the moment, is what's important.
